The Big Issue

Morrissey is a well known artist especially to those of the older generation, here the organisation of the big issue want to target the older generation so have included an artist from the 80s to the present in an attempt to get more sales. here they use clever writing to make the big issue more eye catching and the use of morrissey in yellow makes the title stand out just a bit more so the walking public can tell who this issue of the big issue is about. lots of writing have been used around the picture of morrissey which we will talk more about later have been used to almost describe him in a series of one worded sentences some of which are bigger and bolder which could show what morrissey was like, his ego and his wildness. even small pictures have been used in an attempt to describe the artist and to make the front cover of this edition of the big issue more attractive and more eye catching and these have been blended in with the words all around the picture of morrissey. in modern days morrissey is not the same young artist that many older people will remember and the big issue have also gone back in time to use a picture of morrissey when he was a younger artist who would publish songs for the public to listen to on radios at that time as YouTube which many listen to music on was not around in the 1980s. you can notice that the masthead is smaller than those on other newspapers and magazines and this allows the creators to fit more into the front cover in an attempt to make it eye catching and to create sales which will need to profits. the colour too is different from the normal back and white type newspapers and the big issue does not follow a repeated pattern of colour scheme as we will come across later. the orange background of the morrissey edition of the big issue makes it interesting and eye catching.

Another issue of the big issue sees a more political report being looked at in depth, again this would target the older generation as they might have more of an interest in this as it is something to do with politics, President trump who might not have many fans is included, this is a risk as many do not like trump both in the US and in the United Kingdom so they might not record as much profits as the big issue on Morrissey (Above) and Liam Gallagher (Below). It also includes Russian President Vladimir Putin who does not have a healthy relationship with Trump and the United States. A rhetorical question has been used as a title in an attempt to lure people in. this is creative and different from the usual newspaper or magazine that the public would be more likely to buy and the public may bee tempted to splash out £2.50 in cash not only to read this version of the big issue but also to help the community. there is also a plug for the website of the big issue that is cleanly tucked away at the top right hand corner of the front cover, they have done this so that people can check out the website and to help the community even further. plus there are more famous people in this edition and we can see this at the bottom of the page where the big issue have included a preview of what else is inside, this will tempt more people to purchase the magazine to see what is inside.

Liam Gallagher is known for his role as the lead singer in the well known band oasis and later he went on a solo run releasing songs like wall of glass and for what its worth. a singer in the 90s and the new millennium era he is known by many in the world and this is why the big issue made him the front cover star of this edition of the big issue. similarly with Morrissey the issue focuses more on the older generation however the younger generation may still be interested in this edition of the big issue as Liam Gallagher is still releasing records to this date.
once again this edition like many editions is packed with colour as the big issue try to lure people into buying any of the editions to try to gain profits and to try to help the community. the picture of Gallagher himself covers almost the while of the page so that people can recognise who this edition is about.
once again the big issue minimises its logo so that it can fit more colour and more of Gallagher in. as shown by all three covers the big issue clearly wants the public to focus more on whats inside the magazine instead of the company itself. it also includes a free entry to the art fair and this could tempt a few art fans to purchase the magazine so that they can read it and they can visit the art fair, plus there will be more information inside for the readers to read.
