The impact on technological change on newspapers

paywalls
some online news companies use paywalls to almost make the reader pay a subscription fee so that they can access the news, the times and the Sunday times does this and they include deals to try to tempt the reader to paying the subscription.

you have the option to register to get two articles a week of your choice, this is free as you only have to log in and the subscribe option which allows you to view the full news content of this website.

not many others use a pay wall but they do use ads.

two main ones are the daily mail and the guardian, both use ads to promote products from other source

these ads allow a different for online news sites to gain money and it also benefits the sites where the ads come from, we see this on many online news sites because it is an easy way for them to gain profits.

many online sites also use social media to try to lure them to read their stories on both the print copy and the online version of the specific newspaper. here are a few examples.
this will help the sites gain more followers on their respective social media sites so that more people will know about the newspaper companies and will either purchase a copy from a shop or visit their online page where they can subscribe to them.

now we are all producers and we have are own opinions on news and due to the online news publications and social media we can be heard as a community to either agree or disagree with news stories and opinions. we can now publish and then filter and wikipedia is an example of all of this. we can edit things on wiki so we all have a say and our own point of view
